Life Update: Moving, Work, & Deciding Where to Live

Hey guys!

All I can do is apologize for how inactive I’ve been lately. It’s not that I haven’t wanted to do blog posts: I’ve literally just been so busy the past few weeks that I haven’t had the time to sit down to write or even take photos for the blog.

May was our last month in our apartment, so the last week or so of May consisted of us packing all of our things and getting ready to move it all. For now, we are storing our stuff at Skyler’s parent’s house two hours south of where we were living. To keep it short and simple, we have absolutely no idea where we want to be or what we want to do.

We both have the travel bug right now, and Skyler really wants to get a van and just do van life for a few months. I’m a little undecided on all of that. I think I would rather just take a nice long summer trip out to the west coast. I still have aspirations for a nice beauty room area and to start doing video. To top it all off, we don’t even know where we want to live after we’ve taken our trip. Do we want to rent an apartment or a house? Do we want to buy a house? Do we want to move to a different state? Who knows; I definitely don’t.

Last week we traveled down to the beach to take engagement photos of some old college friends of mine. We made the awful mistake of camping on the beach (it was so humid), but we got some amazing photos and still managed to have a lot of fun.

Kahlúa had never seen the ocean before so it was cool letting her experience that. After that we went to the Sam Houston National Forest to get anniversary photos of my best friend and her husband. Luckily we were able to stay in a super nice hotel so it was 100 times better than camping.

Now we’re back in Denton for the week until we leave for Palo Duro Canyon on Saturday, then hopefully we’ll head over to Santa Fe, New Mexico and then up to Colorado.

In addition to our wedding clients, I’m in the process of starting an online apparel store. I was working really hard on it and then we moved so of course my attention got derailed. I’m hoping I will have it up and running within the next month or so, but of course there’s no promises on that either. Additionally, I’ve been on a pretty strict “no buy” from makeup. Not that I don’t want to purchase all the new releases, I just don’t think it is beneficial to this weird lifestyle we are living right now. I received my June Ipsy bag in the mail and paused my subscription until October. Man, that hurt. Luckily since it’s insanely hot and humid in Texas right now, I haven’t been wearing much makeup besides my usual brows, mascara, and primer, so I’m not missing out too much by not doing a full face.

I have my fingers crossed that all my summer adventures will be worth it all, and that I will be blogging way more often. How often do you guys feel like you have no idea where you want to be? What are your summer plans? Let me know!
