Beauty Empties! June – July

Hey everyone!

I’ve started keeping my empties to get a better idea of what products I’m actually using up and to determine my purchasing trends (as well as what is and isn’t working for me). I’ve been wanting to start posting my beauty empties, and now I finally have the opportunity!

Makeup:

elf Cosmetics Clear Brow & Lash Mascara: This is probably my sixth or so tube of this brow gel. It’s insanely cheap and it gets the job done. Will most definitely be repurchasing.

Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara (Ipsy Sample): Seriously, bless Ipsy for sending this mascara my way. This is for sure my new favorite, and I’m about to order the waterproof one from Eyeko’s website. Yes, most definitely will be repurchasing.

elf Cosmetics Lip Stain in Nude Nectar: I’ve had this lip stain for about a year or so and only started using it recently. I find it works so well just over a light application of lip balm. I like this lip stain, but will probably be moving on to some other options, so I won’t be repurchasing.

Bodycare:

Bath & Body Works Oahu Coconut Sunset Body Cream: This lotion seriously smells amazing, and I think coconut is now my new favorite scent. That being said, Bath & Body Works is not cruelty free, so I will not be repurchasing. I’m going to shop around and hopefully find a similar, cruelty free alternative.

Secret pH Balanced Unscented Antiperspirant/Deodorant: My body is so weird, and so many deodorants either smell weird on me or just don’t work. I seriously love this deodorant because it’s the only one I can wear without getting super irritated skin. It is not cruelty free, but I’m going to have to keep using it while I try out some other options (may try the vegan Tarte one). If you have any recommendations, please link them in the comments!

Skincare:

Yes To Grapefruit Correct & Repair Daily Facial Scrub: It took me well over a year to finish this product, and now I know why. I really prefer a physical exfoliant over a chemical one. This product was nice and I really did like it, but I just never found myself reaching for it as often as my other face scrubs. Because of that, I would not repurchase.

Coppertone SP 50+ Oil Free Faces Sunscreen Lotion: I actually really liked using this sunscreen underneath my foundation, but found that it did in fact make my face look oily if I just applied it on my bare face. Even though I liked this product, it is not cruelty free, so I will not be repurchasing.

Burt’s Bees Ginger Lime Moisturizing Lip Balm: Burt’s Bees makes my absolute favorite lip balm, and I was stoked to try this Ginger Lime one (I loooove Moscow Mules). I used this up so fast, and will definitely be repurchasing.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Purifying Micellar Cleansing Towlettes: I truly love these makeup wipes because they have a lovely scent and don’t irritate my sensitive skin. Unfortunately, they are not cruelty free, so I will not be repurchasing.

  1. Love that you are going cruelty-free! You should try Schmidt’s deodorant if you haven’t yet. 😉 I didn’t even know Tarte made one, I’ll have to check that out. I love Moscow Mules, too, the lip balm sounds amazing!

    • Thank you! I’ve been wanting to for forever and realized there’s just no excuse not to. Thank you for the suggestion! I’ll definitely check out Schmidt’s deodorant. It seems like nothing works for me so it’s definitely the one thing I’ve been struggling to find an alternative for. And yessss the lip balm is SO good!💛💛

      • I think I read somewhere that you need to give your armpits time to adjust to natural deodorant? My sister tried the Schmidt’s with charcoal & it didn’t really work for her but I’ve been using the regular rose + vanilla & it worked wonders for me right away- no transitioning period. 🙂 Hope you find one that works for you!! ❤

      • Yeah I think that makes a lot of sense! I just looked up Schmidt’s deodorant, I’m definitely going to try them out. The rose and vanilla one sounds awesome. I really want to steer clear of aluminum, so I’m crossing my fingers that it works for me. 🤞🏼🤞🏼 thank you so much for suggesting it!💞
