July Ipsy Bag

Hey friends!

I was getting soo frustrated the past few days. My Ipsy bag said it would arrive by the 12th and I didn’t get it until the 17th! (aka yesterday). I actually got it early last month, but this month the shipping confirmations just completely stopped. I actually thought they had lost it or something.

But late is better than never, and as always, I’m very happy with my bag and everything in it. The bag itself is definitely my favorite so far. It’s a beautiful blue holographic design, and would be a perfect pencil case for school or a case for eyeliners. A lot of people were saying that the bag has a weird smell to it, but I definitely didn’t notice anything like that.

The first item I received in my bag is the The Water Balm by BKR. I had never actually heard of the brand BKR before, but apparently they make glass water bottles and this is their first ever beauty product.

Lip balms are most definitely an obsession with me, and I regularly go through an entire tube of lip balm in a few weeks. I actually laugh when people say it’s crazy to finish an entire lip balm because I finish so many, so I’m always happy to have another to add to my collection.

This feels nice on the lips, although it does have a sort of slight tacky/sticky feel. It’s not that bad though and definitely something I will wear and use up. My only negative thing to say is that I’m not crazy about the scent. I don’t even know how to describe it, except that it smells kind of like an old lady beauty product. Ipsy says it has an “invigorating peppery scent”. On the plus side, I love the clear plastic packaging and how small it is. It also contains Mediterranean algae which encourages collagen production. After using it last night and all day today, my lips feel soft, moisturized, and bouncy.

Cruelty Free?: Yes

Vegan?: Yes

The next product I received this month is the PureHeals Charcoal Mask. This is a Korean skincare peeling mask that contains activated charcoal and is supposed to clear out pores of blackheads and dead skin.

I have not gotten a chance to use this mask yet, but I am a little apprehensive because a lot of the reviews are saying it hurts to peel off. One reviewer even said it made them cry when they peeled it off. I have sensitive skin, especially around my eye area, so peel off masks are usually a bitch to remove. I’ll try it once, but if it is that bad then I will definitely pass it on to a friend.

Cruelty Free? No

Vegan? Yes

The next product I received is the Sundays No. 45 nail polish.

I thought the color looked nice online but I wasn’t too excited for it since I already have too many nail polishes as it is.

Well, I’m happy to say I tried it out today and I think the color is stunning! I used three coats to build the color up and am so happy with how it looks. I saw people complaining about how it wasn’t opaque yet even with two coats, but I always apply three coats so that doesn’t bother me one bit. The polish does take forever to dry, so don’t be like me and start painting your nails when you have to go to the bathroom.

Don’t judge the polish on the edges of my cuticles, I haven’t cleaned them up yet.

I think this color is stunning and would literally look good for any season. I also think it’s a color that would flatter many different skin tones. To top it off, all of Sundays polishes are 10-free and non-toxic.

Vegan? Yes

The next product I received this month I was (and still am) so excited for. I got the Eyeko Skinny Travel Sized Liquid Eyeliner in Carbon Black.

Eyeko makes my ride or die mascara, and my best friend had just told me a few weeks ago that this eyeliner is her absolute favorite. I haven’t gotten to try it yet, but I have high hopes so I seriously don’t want it to let me down.

Cruelty Free? Yes

Vegan? Yes

The last product I received this month is the ITTSĒ Matte Eyeshadow in Changing to Flats.

This is a pretty deep plum shade that I think will be nice once autumn rolls around. I have a bunch of single shadows I need to depot and put in a Z palette, so I feel like it’s probably time to do that now because I have no where to put this until then. I haven’t used it out yet, but it swatched nicely and has good reviews.

Overall, I’m happy with this bag (as usual). What did you guys get in your bags this month?♡

  1. I put my Ipsy on hold for 3 months because I was in the process of buying a house and moving, so I didn’t get this bag. (August is when my bag starts up again, so we’re almost there.) I really wish I had gotten this one though because I am in love with that makeup bag! Normally I care less about the bags, but this one is just so pretty!

I would be scared to try that peel off mask too. I used one before, and it really does hurt! Now if I use it, I don’t use it on my entire face. I just use it on the less sensitive areas.

I love that nail polish color! It’s one of my favorite shades. I like the little flower design you did too.

    • Awww that sucks! I had mine on hold for like two weeks and changed my mind. I’m the same, I usually don’t care too much about the bags but this one is absolutely gorgeous.

And my husband and I just tried it tonight! We just did it on our noses because I was too scared to put it all over my face lol. I’m glad I didn’t, it’s so dark and thick.

Thank you! The flowers are actually little stick ons 🙊 I wish I was talented enough to actually make that design though!

  2. Oh I’m jealous about the nail polish & lip balm!! They both look super nice! & the little flowers you added to your nails? Too cute!!

I’ve never tried a peeling mask but that’s scary that people are saying that it hurts! I looooved this moisturizer I received by PureHeals and it just ran out, I almost cried.
