July Empties + Mini Declutter

Hey guys!

Today I’m going to be posting my July Empties plus a little mini declutter I did about a week ago. I’m really excited to do this post since I’ve been holding onto these empties for the past month. Let’s get into it!

Garnier SkinActive Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel Cream: This has been my HG gel moisturizer for the summer months. It’s so lightweight and cooling, which makes it perfect for refreshing your skin after a long day in the sun. This is probably my second or third jar of this moisturizer, and while I seriously adore this stuff, I will not be repurchasing since Garnier is not cruelty free (they’re actually a pretty shit company tbh). Luckily, I have found a new gel moisturizer that I’ll be sharing with you guys in the future.

Cruelty Free?: No

Vegan?: Yes

7th Heaven Green Tea Peel-Off Mask: I’ve had this mask ever since Christmas when I was gifted it in my stocking. I’ve been spending a crazy amount of time in the sun so I figured I might as well try this. While I’m not sure if this particular mask from 7th Heaven is vegan, I know they do have several masks in their inventory that are vegan. They are, however, Leaping Bunny certified as a cruelty free brand. This mask was overall just okay. It wasn’t anything amazing and I personally wouldn’t purchase it, but I wouldn’t mind using it if I was gifted it again. It did smell nice and it left my face feeling a little rejuvenated and brightened, but it wasn’t anything super amazing.

Cruelty Free?: Yes

Vegan?: Not sure

Pacifica Cactus Water Makeup Removing Wipes: Let me start with a disclaimer that I absolutely love Pacifica as a brand. They have a lot of awesome products I use daily that I truly love, but these makeup wipes are absolutely god awful. The smell of these literally smells like dirt. Not only do they stink, but the smell is insanely strong. My husband could smell them from at least five feet away and told me I needed to get rid of them because they stunk so badly. They did remove my makeup, but they stung my eyes to where it felt like a burning sensation. The only reason I even got through all of these was because I didn’t have anything else to remove my makeup. Pacifica, I truly love you, but the scent of these wipes smells like I’m wiping dirt all over my face. Would not repurchase.

Cruelty Free?: Yes

Vegan?: Yes

Thayers Witch Hazel Toner in Rose Petal: I don’t even need to tell you guys about this toner. I made a post a while back about how this toner helped clear up my skin issues I was struggling with. This stuff is my absolute HG toner and who knows how many bottles I’ve used up by now. Already repurchased.

Cruelty Free?: Yes

Vegan?: Yes

Dr. Bronner’s 18-in-1 Hemp Baby Unscented Pure Castile Soap: If you haven’t tried Dr. Bronner’s castile soap yet, you need to go to Target and buy some now! This stuff is the bees knees. Instead of containing sulfates and other stuff that dries out your skin, Dr. Bronner’s is made with coconut, olive, and hemp oils, and essential oils like peppermint and lavender. So far I’ve tried the unscented and the rose scent, and will be trying the almond one next. I’ve used this stuff to wash dishes, wash bras and other delicates, wash my hair and body, and even wash my dog. It really is amazing stuff and a little goes a long way. The best part is that it’s eco-friendly, so you can use it outside when camping without worrying about hurting the environment.

Cruelty Free?: Yes

Vegan?: Yes

Cake Beauty Delectable Body Butter Cream in Triple Citrus Blend: I received this lotion sample in my June Ipsy bag and really loved it. I love Cake Beauty’s body butters and the scent of this is really nice and refreshing. It felt amazing and I was sad to use it up so quickly. I would definitely repurchase and would like to try some of their coconut scented body butters next time around.

Cruelty Free?: Yes

Vegan?: Yes

Trissola Leave In Conditioner: This leave in conditioner has the most amaaaazing scent ever. It smells very warm and vanilla-y, and it made my hair soooo freaking soft and silky. I would 100% repurchase a million times over. I believe they are a cruelty free company, but I honestly couldn’t find much information on their cruelty-free status besides a Facebook post (so I would do more research if a cruelty-free product is very important to you).

Cruelty Free?: I think so

Vegan?: I think so

Maybelline FitMe Dewy + Smooth Foundation in 115 Ivory: The Maybelline FitMe foundation seems to be everyone’s HG. This is my perfect summer shade and I love the fact that it has SPF in it, but it does tend to oxidize more than I’m comfortable with. To top it off, Maybelline isn’t cruelty free, so I will not be repurchasing.

Cruelty Free?: No

Vegan?: Yes

Hanalei Lip Treatment in Mauve Pink: I really liked using this lip treatment. It was very smooth and hydrating on my lips, but I kind of hated the fact that it came in a tube because I accidentally squeezed out way too much more than once. The color didn’t really show up on my lips either, but I know they do have it available in other colors. While it was nice and I do think it’s a great product, I don’t think I would repurchase it when I could find a tinted lip balm for much cheaper (and I just found out it’s not vegan anyway).

Cruelty Free?: Yes

Vegan?: No (contains lanolin and beeswax)

Mini Declutter:

Bare Escentuals Powder Brush and Eyeshadow Brush: Oh my god guys, I’m embarrassed that I even still have these. Pretty sure my nanna gave these to me when I was like ten or something. I don’t know why they hell they sat with all my other brushes for so long because I probably haven’t used these in like ten years. Eww.

Essence of Beauty Powder Brush: Again, I don’t even remember when I got these. Probably for Christmas or something when I was still a pre-teen. I’ve probably used this brush like five times in my life. To the trash it goes.

NYX Tres Jolie Gel Pencil Liner: I’m actually pretty bummed about this one. This gel liner is the bomb, but unfortunately mine is definitely expired. I tried using it to tightline last month and the formula has changed so much I can’t get any payoff from it. It’s a great eyeliner though and I’ll definitely be repurchasing (and hopefully using it before it expires).

Cruelty Free?: Yes

Vegan?: Yes

Those are all my beauty empties for July! I’m really excited about some of the products I’m trying out in August, so look out for my August Empties post next month.

Have you guys tried any of these products? What did you think about them? Let me know in the comments below♡

  1. That Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap sounds really amazing!! I’ll def keep my eye out for it. Oh! I’ve tried that Hanalei lip treatment — sadly, it didn’t work out as well for me!
