August Ipsy Bag

Hey guys!

My August Ipsy bag came a week or so ago, and I was sooo thrilled with it! I was pretty bummed from my Boxycharm and this really ignited my excited for subscription boxes again.

For some reason, my Ipsy account was glitched and I didn’t know what I was going to be getting until the day before it delivered. When I first saw the photo of the bag online, I didn’t think it was very cute. I thought the bag was a hard, plastic sort of material.

Now that I’ve seen the bag in person I think it’s absolutely adorable! It’s made out of a canvas type of material, and it’s actually so much cuter than I had initially thought. I think the yellow tassel adds a nice touch as well.

The first item I was received is the Ciaté London Glow-To Highlighter in Moondust. This stuff is gorgeous.

I definitely don’t need another highlighter, but I always want them. I think this is a great addition to my collection and am super pleased with it. Now I just need to buy a z palette since I have so many single pans laying around.

The next product I received is the Purlisse Beauty Watermelon Energizing Aqua Balm. This moisturizer smells like sweet watermelon and feels super light and hydrating on my skin. This is part of the excerpt from Ipsy’s site:

“Aside from being one of our fave summer fruits, watermelon is so good for your skin! It’s the star ingredient in this lightweight balm and it’s packed with vitamins A, C, and E which help hydrate, brighten your complexion, and regenerate your skin cells.”

It also says it contains aloe vera and cucumber to calm inflammation and reduce redness, which is definitely one of my skincare concerns. I’m very pleased with how this moisturizer performs and will be purchasing the full size when I run out.

This next item I was stoked about since I haven’t received a blush from Ipsy yet. This is the Pixi by Petra Fresh Face Blush in Beach Rose. It’s made with Vitamin E to help hydrate your skin, and when I swatched it the consistency felt like suede on my fingers. It literally only took me one dip of my brush in to achieve a nice, subtle blush color. I really like this and will be taking it with me on my upcoming trip to Colorado. The packaging is very nice and compact so I think it will be perfect for traveling, unlike my shitty Wet n Wild packaging which breaks when I just look at it.

Next, I received these two Juice Up Sheet Masks by the brand Lab For You (I love their cute little Erlenmeyer flask logo). The Ipsy site says the Kale mask is great for reducing redness and de-stressing, and the blackberry mask is perfect for soothing and revitalizing tired skin.

I wanted to try one of these out so bad, but I’m waiting a couple of weeks until I do. Next week we go to Colorado and we’ll be working the whole time we’re there. Then, we’ll be driving back to Texas and moving all of our things to our new place. I’m going to use the blackberry one then because I know that I will need it since I’ll be dying from exhaustion and all that. I hope it does what it says it will do! Also, the packaging on these really makes me want a fruit smoothie.

The last product I received was the Half-Caked Lip Fondant in Girl Crush. Guyyssssss.

This is my boss bitch red! I freaking love it. It dries down to matte but wears very comfortably on the lips, and it just looks so beautiful. I feel like a true professional when I’m wearing it. I hate wearing bright reds in the winter, but since I have a tan right now I think the color just looks so nice, especially with a beautiful golden highlight. It’s also super smudge-proof. After eating lunch my lip color hadn’t even budged, when normally it completely disappears.  If you’re looking for a gorgeous bright orangey-red, I would highly recommend this!

Vegan?: Yasssssss

That’s my August Ipsy bag! I think this is by far my best bag yet, and I’m just super happy with everything I received. How about you guys, what did you get? Also, are any of you following the crazy beauty guru drama that’s been going down? Let me know in the comments below♡

  1. I wasn’t a fan of this month’s bag design but wow, you got such nice items! We didn’t get any of the same. The highlight is beautiful & I am in love with Lip Fondant’s packaging & shade!

    • Yeah I was iffy about it but really liked it once I saw it in person! I know a lot of people don’t like orange though so I totally understand lol.
Have you posted your bag yet? I love seeing what everyone gets since it all differs so much.

      • I don’t mind the color! I just didn’t like the weird canvas material. 😛 lol. I did think that yellow tassel was cute though! I am going to post my bag SOON, just need to try one more thing. 😀
