Just a few things I’m loving in the month of October!
Bath and Body Works Lavender & Sandalwood Fragrance Mist: I have no idea how old this bottle is, but it still smells amazing and gives me all the warm and cozy fall vibes.
Pacifica Natural Beauty Dream Big Mascara: I actually hated this when I first used it, but it’s starting to grow on me. I really love the wand and how it separates my lashes so nicely instead of clumping them.
Colourpop Lippie Stick in Cookie: I’m pretty sure this shade is discontinued now, but I’ve been wearing mine a ton lately. It’s the perfect peachy nude color for when I want to look put together but still professional.
Skyler and I just finished Castle Rock a few days ago. This show is set in the Stephen King multiverse and is a mix of horror and the supernatural, mystery, and science fiction. It has André Holland and Bill Skarsgård (swoon) in it, and damn it’s so good. It’s also been renewed for a second season, so I’m excited to see where the story goes.
We’re currently on Season 5 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I had heard so much about this show and am super glad I decided to check it out. It’s such an easy show to watch and always cheers me up. I’m going to be bummed when I finish season 5 since season 6 hasn’t even been released on tv yet.
Foster The People’s song Sit Next to Me is SUCH a banger. I’ve been jamming it for the past few months, and it gives me all the best 80’s vibes. Highly recommend to listen to it in the car with the windows down.
Hippo Campus‘s album Bambi is full of gems, and I listen to it all the way through with no skips. It’s the perfect roadtrip through the mountains type of album.
Lastly, I had to include Conversation Pt. 1 by Mac Miller. His whole new album Swimming is such a masterpiece, and I’ve been listening to it so much lately. I’ve been listening to Mac Miller ever since his first mixtapes, and I cried when I heard that he had passed. I think his new album is more than worth giving a listen to, but it may hit you harder than you expect.
I’m currently reading A Storm of Swords, the third book in the A Song of Ice and Fire (AKA Game of Thrones) series by George R. R. Martin. I’ve been “reading” this book for months now, since I’ve been so busy I barely picked up at all. Now that I have some downtime I’ve been reading it like crazy and will probably finish it in the next few days.
If you’re a fan of the Game of Thrones tv series, or even just fantasy novels in general, I highly recommend buying the series and reading it. It helped me understand the show SO much more, and actually have a connection to the characters and understand their motivations. It’s just such a great series and I’ll be bummed when I finish them all.
Here’s some food I’ve been super into lately! Yes, I know it all looks like junk food but I’m not going to share a picture of bananas and romaine lettuce. From left to right:
Califia Farms Dairy Free Toffee Tidings Almond Milk Creamer: I am a total slut for anything toffee, so I almost died when I saw this in store. This makes my morning coffee absolutely perfect, and is super creamy unlike most almond milk creamers. I know it’s a limited holiday creamer, but I really hope they just make it a year-round thing.
Lightlife Smart Bacon Meatless Veggie Bacon Strips: I used to exclusively buy the Morningstar bacon, but since that’s not vegan I was on the hunt for something else. I found this at Kroger and all my wishes were answered. It’s super delicious on BLT’s and I seriously have zero complaints about it. 10/10
Tostitos Hint of Lime Tortilla Chips: Tostitos always has the best tortilla chips. These have an awesome lime seasoning on them, and they taste amazing crushed up in some spicy black bean soup.
Kroger Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels: I loooooove peanut butter, and remember eating these all the time as a kid. They’re super cheap and are a great snack to have when I’m shooting weddings (or coming back from a shoot). Plus, they’re super cheap.
Lenny and Larry’s the Complete Cookie in Snickerdoodle: I feel like such a dummy for not knowing about these! They’re vegan, kosher, soy-free, and have 16 grams of protein per cookie. The chocolate chip one is my favorite, and I can eat one while I’m running errands and it keeps me full.
Majesty Palm: I bought this majesty palm from Home Depot for $17. I haven’t gotten a planter for it yet, but have been paying extra attention to it to make sure it’s happy. I think it adds so much to our house and I’m so happy I got it.
Full Moon Chicken Jerky Dog Treats: My dog Kahlúa is absolutely obsessed with these dog jerky treats. I’ve never seen her go so crazy for a treat before. The best part is the ingredients: Chicken, Dried Cane Molasses, Vinegar, Rosemary Extract. No fillers and no random preservatives, so I don’t have to worry if they’re bad for her.
CBD Gummies: One of our friends gave us these after Skyler helped him fix his car. These CBD gummies contain Certified Pure Cannabidiol, and are supposed to help you relax and sleep easier. They don’t contain any THC, so they don’t get you high or anything like that.
I took one the other night and basically died lol. They really do relax your whole body, and I think they’re going to be super helpful for Skyler since he has such difficulty sleeping on a normal schedule. Unfortunately, these aren’t vegan since they contain gelatin, but I’m sure I can find other CBD products that work for us.
That’s it for my current October faves!
