It felt like I’ve been saving these empties for the looooongest time. It was a relief to take these photos and toss these out of my life for good! (Sorry for the terrible lighting btw).
e.l.f. Illuminating Mist and Set Setting Spray: I really love this stuff! It retails for only $4 and really helps combine your powder and foundation in a nice, seamless and glowy way. I’m using the e.l.f. matte setting spray right now, and I really prefer the illuminating one. Will definitely repurchase.
e.l.f. Waterproof Lengthening and Volumizing Mascara: This mascara is the bomb (and only $3). I’ve worn it swimming, hiking, and walking my dog in the Texas heat and it holds up so well. I was so sad to see it go, but could tell it had expired by how clumpy it became. Will definitely repurchase.
L.A. Colors Ultimate Liquid Eyeliner: Nah. There’s a reason this is only $1. The applicator itself is actually really cool, but the formula dries super glossy and flakes off easily. Not only that, but it seems determined to get in your eyelashes and glue them together. Lastly, whatever is in this should not be used on your eye area. It left my eyelids red and feeling quiet irritated. I used this maybe a handful of times before saying no more. Would definitely never repurchase.
MAC Prep & Prime Skin Base Visage (Ipsy Sample): Damn, I really did love this stuff! Applying it before my foundation made my skin feel so soft and moisturized. Also, it had a good amount of shimmer to it that helped illuminate my skin. Unfortunately, I think MAC is a shit company and they’re not cruelty free, so I will not be repurchasing. If anyone knows of any cruelty free primers similar to this one, I would love to hear about them!
BOTTOM ROW (DECLUTTER)
NYX Lip Lingerie in the shade Corset: I really wanted to love this lipstick, but I honestly don’t know what I was thinking when I purchased it. This light nude made me looked washed out and dead. It was time to toss it because I literally never once reached for it.
Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade Beeper: Oh my god. When I first got really into makeup, I ordered a million matte liquid lipsticks from Colourpop (mattes were so popular a few years ago). As a result, I have a ridiculous amount of them and I never wear them. I adore Colourpop but this formula is dry and crumbly and makes me want to chop my lips off. I tried this beautiful brown color on the other day and less than five hours later broke out around my lips. It had definitely expired and was time to go.
Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade Teeny Tiny: This was a dark shade that looked the same as all my other dark Colourpop shades. I think all of their lipsticks basically turn the same color or something. I wore this maybe twice and just did not get the use out of it that I should have.
Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade Airplane Mode: This strange orangey nude was the dumbest color choice I have ever made. Colourpop makes me so mad with their inconsistent colors and swatches. I’ve seen swatches of this shade and it looks different in each one. The color I received was an awful peachy orange and just looked terrible on me. It was time to go.
Colourpop Lippie Pencil in the shade Bichette: I really like some of Colourpop’s lippie pencils, but I just kind of came to the realization that I never use lip liners and don’t really need them. I tried to use this one up but it kept breaking every time I sharpened it, so I just gave up. Why hold onto it if I have to force myself to use it?
Purlisse Watermelon Energizing Aqua Balm (Ipsy Sample): I didn’t want to run out of this moisturizer because I loved it so much. It smelt sweet and kept my face moisturized and glowing without feeling greasy, sticky, or breaking me out. Will definitely purchase the full size.
Pacifica Purify Facial Cleansing Wipes with Coconut Water: I don’t know what it is, but Pacifica has been disappointing me left and right. These didn’t work that well at removing my makeup. They didn’t feel wet enough, and honestly, they left my skin feeling burnt and irritated. I’m surprised I managed to finish them. The only redeeming quality was that they smelt nice. Would not repurchase.
LAB For You Juice Up Blackberry Mask: I loved this mask! Felt so moisturizing and refreshing on my skin, and I didn’t want to take it off. My skin looked much brighter after using it. I would recommend this.
Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks: This was my last Wander Beauty sample from my July Boxycharm. I liked using these, but they just aren’t remarkable enough to repurchase them myself. They did feel nice to use when my undereyes were puffy though.
Brush & Blender Cleanser: My best friend Emily gave me this brush cleanser, so I have no idea where it’s from. It did it’s job perfectly, but nothing some Dawn dish soap can’t do. I liked it but would not repurchase simply because I just stick with Dawn.
Merle Norman Nail Polish: This polish is old. My mom gave me this years ago and I recently used it to give myself a pedicure. I could tell it had expired, and so it was time for it to go.
Eyeliner Brush & Blush Brush: These are both just random brushes/tools I had laying around for no apparent reason. I never used these so I’m tossing them. I would much rather only have items that I actually use, instead of random brushes and tools making a mess out of my collection.
Well that’s it for my October & November Empties & Declutter! I have been slowly panning, decluttering, and curating my makeup collection these past few months and I am so looking forward to having a small but loved collection. I don’t need a bunch of random stuff that doesn’t work for me.
Have you guys been panning or declutter lately? Let me know in the comments below!
